The “Maker Mayors Action Report” was published in 2014 to highlight the efforts of mayors and cities across the nation to boost the Maker Movement in their communities and drive technological innovation.
The report was released in conjunction with the first-ever White House Maker Faire in June 2014. In May, MAC helped launch the “Mayors Maker Challenge to recruit a network of mayors to become “Maker Mayor” and pledge to take on at least one activity to foster the goals of the Maker Movement. Over 90 mayors from around the nation have taken the pledge, including the mayors of Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Boston, Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Seattle, Detroit, and many other cities large and small. The “Maker Mayors Action Report” highlights many of the efforts mayors and cities have made to boost the Maker Movement and drive innovation.
